'flii' was the final project in my Physical Computing class at Pratt. We were asked to design anything really which used the lessons we learnt in electronics over the semester.

This project was made using Gramovox, which is the main piece of the entire project.

My contribution to this was to create a 4 wheeled obstacle-avoiding robot which directed itself away from the person approaching it.

The build for the installation didn't take as long as I thought it would.

This was definitely the most time consuming part of the entire process. There were quite a few issues as to how fast the robot should be.

For the initial tests (like the one on the left), calibrating the movements of the wheels was fairly straightforward but getting the right speed to not let it past the tipping point took a while.

The speed was calibrated for the robot only, but once I'd put the gramovox on top of it, it started pulling more efforts and doing wheelies.
